KA の高校受験コース

概要

KA の高校受験コースは、入試で合格するだけでなく、その先の高校生活や大学生活を視野に入れて、英語のあらゆる分野（Writing、Reading、Grammar、Vocabulary、Speaking、Listening）を向上させることを目的としています。

もちろん、単にテキストをなぞるだけではありません。KAでは、生徒が自分について研究して情熱を見い出し、自ら目標を設定することであらゆる試験や面接に万全に備えることができるよう、また自分自身がどのような人間であり、どのような人間でありたいかをさらに追求できるよう、サポートします。

対象生徒

KA の高校受験コースは、英語テストで高い英語力が要求される学校を中心に志望し、自分の英語力を最大限に伸ばしたいすべての新中学3年生におすすめのコースです。

勉強にひたむきで、自分の周りの世界や自分自身についてもっと知りたい、そしてもっと上を目指したいと考えている皆様へ、専任講師が力になります。

コース内容

コアクラス（週1回）

学習のベースとなるクラスです。様々なトピックを学習し、各分野で重要なスキルを身につけることで、英語力を可能な限り高いレベルに引き上げ、あらゆる試験に対応できるようにします。

コアクラスで行われるライティングのレッスンは、KA Grade 6 Juken Program と同様、受験を控えた生徒のニーズに合わせて、トピックに関するリサーチの方法、エッセイの構成、文法など、あらゆることをカバーします。エッセイのフィードバックは、専任講師から毎週行われ、生徒は学んだことをすぐに次のエッセイに生かすことができます。

KA Plus!（オンライン授業のサブスクリプション）

テストに必要なスキルを身につけるクラスから、新しいアイデアを探したり、自分を表現したりする楽しいディスカバリークラスまで、生徒の英語力を向上させるコースです。

それぞれの学校に役立つスキルの向上や、各志望校の対策に特化したクラスです。秋以降に開講されます。（一部クラスは KA Plus! のクラスとして開講予定です。）

受講までの流れ

KAP テストの実施

高校受験コースを希望される方は、KAP テスト（Kikokushijo Academy Progress テスト）を受けていただきます。

第1回 KAP テスト日程：2024年1月20日（土）※日本時間

• 都立大学校　15:30 - 17:30
• 三田校　　　17:30 - 19:30
• オンライン　15:30 - 17:30

※海外にお住まいでご都合がつかない方は、英検・TOEFL・その他の資格や、英語の経歴などを考慮する場合もございます。ご相談ください。

KAP テストとは・・・

KAP テストは、年に3回（1月、5月、9月）実施される実力テストで、リスニング、リーディング、語彙、文法、ライティングのお力を測ります。テスト結果は、生徒が自分の英語力を分析するだけでなく、生徒と講師の双方が改善に向けて焦点を絞った目標を設定できるようにするとともに、志望校のアドバイスにも役立ちます。

中でもリーディングセクションは、文法やボキャブラリーを問う設問も含まれており、英検2～準1級レベルからSATレベルの高いレベルの英文まで、4つのパッセージで難易度を上げて構成されています。フィクションとノンフィクションの両方でさまざまなレベルの問題から生徒が最終的に受験する試験の難易度を模しています。

KA High School Juken

Goals of the program.

The principal goal of course is to help students to improve in all areas of their English (Writing, Reading, Grammar, Vocabulary, Speaking, and Listening) not only in preparation for success in their end of year “High-School Juken” examinations, but also in their high school and university careers. 

However, we also know that simply “studying” these areas is not enough. With this in mind, KA helps students to learn to research, discover their passions, and set their own goals so that they are truly prepared for all tests and interviews while further exploring who they are, and who they hope to be. 

For whom: What kind of students.

The HSJ class is suited to all students who wish to focus on schools whose English tests require a high level of English, and who wish to bring their English to the highest possible level. Students will be dedicated to their studies, interested in learning more about the world around them and themselves, and keen to improve. 

Course description

Core Class

This is KA’s weekly class where students study a broad variety of topics to help them build key skills in every area, ensuring their English is at the highest possible level and that they are ready for any test.

Our HS Juken writing course is tailored to the needs of students preparing for entrance exams, covering everything from research, to essay structure, to grammar. Weekly Essay feedback from KA’s essay mentors, provides constant feedback to students, who are encouraged to immediately apply what they’ve learned to their next piece of work. 

KA Plus!（Online Subscription Service）

Daily classes where students can improve their English ranging from test skills to fun discovery classes where students can explore new ideas and express themselves.

Countdown classes

Specific, school test focused classes held in the fall or later. Some classes will be held through KA Plus!.

Sign up process

KAP Test

Students wishing to join the class are invited to first take the most recent KAP test.

• Date: Saturday, January 20, 2024 (Japan Time)
• Location: KA Toritsudaigaku 15:30 - 17:30 / Mita 17:30 - 19:30 / Online 15:30 - 17:30

In some cases, especially for those overseas who are unable to arrange a time to take the test, we may consider other areas such as Eiken, TOEFL, and other qualifications, as well as student background.

KAP Test: What it is, what it does.

The KAP (Kikokushijo Academy Progress Test) is held three times a year, and tests students on their listening, reading, vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills. The results of this test help provide detailed feedback to both students and teachers so both can set focused goals for improvement, as well as assisting with providing advice on target schools.

The reading section of the test, which also contains grammar and vocabulary questions, increases in difficulty across four passages ranging from an Eiken 2~Pre-1 level passage to an advanced, SAT level passage, allowing students to test themselves in both fiction and nonfiction at a number of different levels, and reflecting the difficulty range of passages and questions students will find in their final tests.
